Normally, I would say "Happy Memorial Day!" to everyone, but that would be far too inappropriate for today's Holiday. Memorial Day is recognized by the U.S. Government as being a ' day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service.' Today is a day to remember our fallen troops, our brothers and sisters, who have sacrificed their lives to make our way of life possible. In America we value free speech and the very freedom to have our own opinions and do what we want with our lives. In no other country do these things come about the same way. Today, at 3:00pm, in each time zone, please take some time to remember the men and women who fought on the front lines so that we can have our freedom. Now, I understand that this article might have been posted late, but if you haven't already done so please take the time to remember. Remember the rag-tag Americans who fought for our freedom back in 1776. Remember the soldiers of the Civil War who fought against each other. Remember our men and women who fought in World War I and World War II. Remember the soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War, and who came to back America with their backs turned to them. Remember the soldiers who have died in Afghanistan and Iraq. Please, reflect on the people who have made this country so great and who sacrificed everything that they had in order to give us a better life.
